Summer is here and if you’re like a lot of us you’ve been planning that this year you’ll be bikini ready, but once again temptation was too hard to resist and the gym did not look as appealing as that delicious dairy milk so your plans went out the window.
What if I told you the best way to get slim is to eat fat. Yes you did not hear me wrong. Unfortunately when I say fat I don’t mean delicious pizzas, chocolate and cakes but more good fats like avocados, Peanut Butter, Walnuts and much more.
Good fats also known as polyunsaturated fats are good for your heart, help reduce cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. Whereas the much loved unhealthy fats also known as trans fats increase cholesterol, risk of heart attack and stroke, I know which fats I’ll be opting for from now on.
Good fats can be very tasty, you just have to know which ones to opt for. If you like your chocolate why not switch to dark chocolate, it may not be the same as your favourite milk chocolate but after only a few squares you will have diminished you’re cravings and that’s what we want isn’t it?
If you’re a cheese fan why not opt for parmesan instead of the full fat cheddar, just as delicious but less fat. You can even still enjoy a good pizza by making your own with just a wholemeal wrap, tomato puree, parmesan and whatever toppings you want. Remember to opt for toppings like peppers, mushrooms or onions as they will make your pizza more exciting but won’t add much fat.
Don’t get me wrong a treat is OK to have once in awhile but make sure it is only that, as if it’s more you can’t really refer to it as a “treat” now can you. Just stay determined and think of why you started in the first place. You will feel much healthier, happier and full of energy to enjoy some fun in the sun.
